  Grouse Mountain

6400 Nancy Greene Way
(604) 984-0661
Open, year round,
9 am - 10 p.m.

During the warmer months, Grouse Mountain is a premier Vancouver attraction, offering historical insight into the region, adventure, and cultural entertainment. Visitors can explore the mountain by riding the gondola 3,700 feet to the top, offering an exciting view of the city, or undertake the gruesome task of hiking the 1.8 miles to the summit. The hike is very steep but rewarding and a common outdoor activity among many locals and avid backpackers.

In addition to lush forest, hiking trails, peak chair rides, helicopter and mountain bike tours, horseback riding, tandem paragliding, alpine meadows and picnic areas, the top of Grouse Mountain offers a wide array of cultural activities. During the summer mountain officials put on an authentic logging show, complete with wood-chopping, pole-climbing and axe-throwing contests. Visitors also will enjoy the cultural enlightenment found in the Hiwus Feasthouse, a First Nation’s loghouse featuring captivating Coast Salish story telling, dancing and dining. Everything here is done in true authentic manner.

During the winter locals and visitors alike take advantage of the consistent snowfall, and use the mountain to hone their skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing skills. There are numerous restaurants and eateries available year-round, as well as some of the finest woodcrafting in the world.
