Here lies the largest collection of Asian art in the West, with 12,000 treasures representing over 40 Asian countries spanning 6,000 years of history. The Avery Brundage Collection alone represents more than 80 per cent of the museum's artifacts.

Also among the permanent gallery are more than 1,200 Chinese jade objects, from the Neolithic period
through the 20th century. Museum guests will also be
able to view Chinese and Buddist Arts with more than
100 bronzes and sculpture, including the Money Tree, a rare bronze funerary object from the 2nd-3rd century
CE.

Visitors should take note that only 15 per cent of the
entire collection is on view at any one time and works
rotate often. They should also take advantage of the
opportunity to see the American art in the neighboring
Golden Gate Park institution, the M. H. de Young
Memorial Museum. Admission is by a common ticket and so you may see both on any given day for just one
price.

The museum is fully wheelchair accessible and a
limited number of wheelchairs are available without
charge at the Museum entrance.
