ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE

Universal Studios Escape is home to the world's most technologically advanced theme park, Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, in Orlando.

With Academy Award-winning producer/director Steven Spielberg as creative consultant, Universal Studios Islands of Adventure will introduce some of the most thrilling and technologically advanced rides and attractions ever made, as well as the world's most beloved characters, including The Cat in the Hat. Spider-Man, Popeye, The Incredible Hulk, Sindbad and the dinosaurs of "Jurassic Park."

Universal Studios Islands of Adventure is adjacent to the Universal Studios Florida motion picture/television theme park and is part of a huge resort destination known as Universal Studios Escape, which features dramatically themed hotels and an entertainment complex, Universal Studios CityWalk, featuring an eclectic mix of themed specialty restaurants and cafes, an unparalleled array of live music and nightclubs, theaters and specialty shops.

Universal Studios Islands of Adventure houses Dueling Dragons, the world's first due racing roller coasters. The Dueling Dragons are constructed with perilously intertwining paths of metal and dragon-shaped racing cars which furiously barrel towards and around each other at speeds close to60 mph; escaping collision by mere inches.

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man is the first ride in history to assimilate 3-D film, live-action and a revolutionary roving motion base simulator to engage guests in the famed comic book character's epic battle against the forces of evil - including a stunning 400-foot freefall "sensory descent." Universal's creators of The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man refer to it as the "next threshold attraction," which combines the best of Universal Studios' famed Back To The Future and Terminator 2: 3-D attractions, widely considered to be landmark achievements.

Utilizing a powerfully designed special booster thrust system, The Incredible Hulk Coaster hurls riders upward with G-force power before sending them careening in wild zigzags ten stories above the ground in a flying maze of intricate tracks, Byzantine paths and a complete weightless inversion 110-feet from the ground, before plunging under a bridge and into two deep underground trenches. Such weightless inversion has never been attempted.

Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls is the first water flume ride ever to send its riders plummeting 75 feet downward beneath the surface of the water.

The 110-acre Universal Studios Islands of Adventure features five spectacularly themed islands featuring innovative attractions, shows, restaurants and rides:

Seuss Landing

A cacophony of colors, music and mood, Seuss Landing is where the whimsical characters of Theodor "Dr. Seuss" Geisel's famous books spring to life. Attractions include The Cat In The Hat, Caro-Seuss-el, Green Eggs and Ham Cafe, If I Ran The Zoo, and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.

Toon Lagoon

This delightful land is where everyone's favorite cartoon characters live when they're not in the Sunday funnies. Visitors will delight in Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls ride and Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges.

Marvel Super Hero Island

This island features epic battles between renowned super heroes and super villains, with such exciting rides as Doctor Doom's Fearfall, The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man and the incredible Hulk Coaster.

The Lost Continent

Myths and legends come to life in this mysterious, fog-shrouded land, which features the Dueling Dragons double coaster ride, Poseidon's Fury: Escape From the Lost City and The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad.

Jurassic Park

A full-fledged incarnation of the novel and motion picture, this hauntingly fascinating island will be inhabited by the most advanced animatronic creatures ever designed - dinosaurs that will respond to the humans around them. In addition, Jurassic Park River Adventure, featuring the longest and steepest water drop ever built, a Discovery Center featuring an interactive opportunity to create a dinosaur via DNA Sequencing (in the Jurassic Park films, the dinosaurs were brought to life from DNA drawn from mosquitoes fossilized in amber), Camp Jurassic, an interactive play area with a multitude of adventures including lava pits, amber caves and tropical rainforests, and new Pteranodon Flyers, bring Jurassic Park roaring to life.
