Occupying almost 10 acres of
downtown Los Angeles, the Staples Center features a Bose sound
system and over a thousand television monitors so fans can keep up
with the action even when not in the arena. Built to comfortably
accommodate the large numbers of people attending all its events,
the Staples Center has over 50 restrooms, elevators and escalators
for easy access, and many places to grab a quick bite. In
addition, the Staples Center has the TEAM LA store, selling the
official merchandise of the LA Teams, the FOX Sports Sky Box
restaurant, and the City View Grill.
After having played at the
Great Western Forum for just under thirty two years The Los
Angeles Lakers moved to the Staples Center after their final game
at the Forum on October 22, 1999. The Los Angeles Clippers also
packed up and moved to the Staples Center after playing their last
game at the LA Arena on May 5, 1999.
Tickets to LA Lakers games
range from $21 to $150 per person, not including the Premier
seats. For the LA Clippers games, tickets range from $10 to $75
dollars per person, not including the Premier seats. Tickets are

Since its first season in
1997, the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks have called the Great
Western Forum home. Built in 1967, it was designed after the Roman
Forum, and has hosted ten championship basketball games from 1950
to 1988. It was formerly home to the LA Lakers (NBA) and LA Kings
(NHL).. Though the Lakers and the Kings have moved out, the Sparks
still share the Forum with concerts and boxing matches.

In
1957, plans were set afoot to build a baseball stadium in the 300
acre plot of land known as Chavez Ravine. The Brooklyn Dodgers
moved west to become the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1958. Before
playing at Dodger Stadium, which was not yet complete, the LA
Dodgers played at the LA Memorial Coliseum. In April of 1962, the
56,000-seat privately financed Dodger Stadium opened to the
public. From 1962-1965, the Dodgers and the Los Angeles Angels
both played at the stadium, but the LA Angels later became the
California Angels and moved into their own field in 1966.

At the time of writing, Los
Angeles has no NFL team. However Los Angeles’ newest football
team, the Los Angeles Avengers, is set to kick of its inaugural
season in April of the year 2000. An arena football team, the Los
Angeles Avengers will be playing at the Staples Center in Downtown
LA.

Established in 1995, the Los
Angeles Galaxy was one of the first teams formed within the newly
created MLS, and plays at the Rose Bowl. This stadium is also host
to concerts,a monthly flea market and is perhaps best known for
its New Year’s day college football games. Galaxy tickets for
children range from $8 to $20, and for adults, prices range from
