HARD ROCK HOTEL & CASINO

The Stevie Ray Vaughn  quote inscribed over the entrance to the Hard Rock Casino says it all. It's says " If this house is a  rockin, don't bother knockin, come on in"  - and on weekend nights, this house is definitely rockin.  It's packed with hip GenerationX  beautiful people who have come to gamble and socialize.

Built in the vein of the cafes, the casino is also adorned with rock n' roll memorabilia and artifacts. (If you want the real thing, there's a Hard Rock Cafe adjacent to the hotel.) There are the usual displays like leather jackets and gold records, but you should take a moment to appreciate the small touches too. Some slot machines have guitar necks as handles, the roulette tables are shaped like pianos and chips have rock pictures and brand names on them. There are also some big touches like a 90-foot neon Fender Stratocaster guitar in front of the casino. ( As seen in the movie, Honey, I blew up the kids) The whole casino is thoroughly rock themed, but can there be too much Rock n' Roll?

Some (older) patrons might think so.  Between the din of the crowd and the rock blaring over hundreds of speakers, the noise level can get very high - but if you came to the Hard Rock that's probably what you're looking for. Rock fans can browse through some great rock artifacts like Greg Allman's leather jacket, James Brown's "King of Soul" cape and crown and guitars from Bruce Springsteen, ZZ Top and Eric Clapton. There is also a tribute to the stars of the Lilith Fair tours.

The rooms at the Hard Rock are very nice. They feature French widows that actually open, rock photographs and 27-inch televisions. Guests can also enjoy one of the nicest pool areas in town. It has a sandy beach, a water slide and underwater speakers so you can swim and boogey at the same time.
